Walkthrough observation composer with timestamped notes and quick-stamp buttons

The problem

Walkthrough notes end up on a legal pad, retyped that night, and the teacher gets feedback a week later with the timestamps guessed. The low-inference evidence that makes feedback useful is the first thing lost.

How Walkthrough helps

Walkthrough stamps every note with the time automatically. Quick-stamp buttons capture the moments you see constantly (objective posted, turn-and-talk, teacher circulating, checks for understanding), free typing covers the rest, and the wrap-up turns it into glow / grow / next step. Export to Word or PDF and the write-up is done when you leave the room.

What it does

6 things, done properly

Timestamped, one-tap notes

Quick-stamp buttons plus free typing — every entry carries its time automatically.

Teacher directory and history

Each teacher's past observations in one place, with an optional instructional focus per visit.

Glow / grow / next step

A structured wrap-up that turns raw notes into feedback teachers can use, plus follow-up dates and a due queue.

Word, PDF, and CSV export

Export a clean write-up for the post-conference or your records — no reformatting night.

Local-first and private

Observation notes stay on your device — nothing about your teachers is uploaded or stored on a server unless you ask for the optional AI summary.

Optional AI summary (beta)

When you want it, a framework-aware draft summary. Off by default, explained below.

Optional AI processing — explained plainly

The AI summary is off until you ask for it

Everything in Walkthrough happens on your device. The one optional exception is the AI summary (beta), and here is exactly what it does:

  • You start it. Nothing is sent anywhere until you tap Generate AI summary on a finished observation. The first time, the app asks for your consent and remembers your answer on that device.
  • What is sent: that one observation's notes, quick-stamp tallies, wrap-up text, and context such as subject, grade, and duration. The teacher's name is removed before sending.
  • Where it goes: to bigbrainlabs.org, where a Cloudflare Workers AI model drafts a summary organized by the framework you chose (Danielson 2022, Marzano Focused, T-TESS, Stronge, McREL, CLASS, or a general lens). It cites a component only when your notes hold evidence for it.
  • What is kept: nothing. The request is proxied to the model and the draft is returned to your device. No notes, names, or summaries are stored on our servers.
  • It is a draft. The text is clearly marked AI-written in the app. Review and edit it before anything reaches a teacher.

Prefer not to use it at all? Simply never tap the button — every other feature, including exports, works without it.
