Is this a subscription?

No — every Big Brain Labs tool is a one-time purchase. Buy brb. and the tools you want and own this version. No subscription, no renewals.

Do students need accounts?

Most tools work without an account. A Big Brain Labs account is used for the brb. kiosk and any tools that need syncing across devices. Students never need accounts.

Is this safe for schools?

Designed to support FERPA, COPPA, and NY Ed Law 2-d compliance. Local-first by default — student data lives in the teacher's browser unless a feature explicitly needs cloud sync. No ads. No selling student data. A signed Data Privacy Agreement is available on request for districts.

Are all the tools finished?

Some tools are still in preview while we polish them. Preview apps are clearly labeled, and updates to a version you own are free.

Can my school buy this?

Yes. Schools and districts can request a quote by emailing support@bigbrainlabs.org. We support POs, signed DPAs, and W-9 requests.

Does it work on Chromebooks?

Yes — every app runs in the browser. No installs. Works on Chromebooks, iPads, school PCs, and personal devices.

Do you offer refunds?

Every tool has a 14-day free trial. It's a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to cancel and no renewals. Full refund within 14 days of purchase.

Real classroom problems, solved one at a time.

Big Brain Labs is a one-teacher software studio. I started it because every tool I was supposed to use as a teacher was either built by a giant ed-tech company that hadn't been in a classroom in twenty years, or some nightmare of pop-ups, ads, and dashboards that wanted to "track engagement."

Every app starts the same way: I notice something annoying in my own classroom — the clipboard kids forget to sign back in, the morning meeting that drags, the tardy log that never gets filed — and I build the tool I wish existed. I polish it until I'm proud to use it with my own students. Then, and only then, do I put it on the internet.

No engagement dashboards. No tracking pixels embedded in your students' photos. Just useful software that earns its keep by saving you time.
