🎓 Tutoring for all ages

From “I like games” to “I can build one.”

Hi, I'm George Balaskas — a K–5 teacher with K–12 Computer Science certification and 8 years in the classroom. I tutor coding, robotics, AI, and digital creativity, plus K–5 Math & ELA and everyday computer skills — and I give patient, judgment-free tech help to adults & continuing-ed learners too. Your child (or you!) already loves technology. I help you learn to create with it.

George Balaskas
Computer Science Teacher

Hi, I'm George 👋

I'm a K–5 teacher with 8 years of classroom experience and K–12 Computer Science certification, plus a Master's in Education (Grades 1–6) and a Master's in Publishing. I tutor because I love the moment something finally clicks.

In my classroom, kids build games, code animations, fly drones, wire up micro:bits, and solve real problems with technology. Outside it, I build networks and home labs, run local AI, shoot and edit video, 3D-print, and ship real software through Big Brain Labs. That hands-on experience is exactly what I bring to every session — for a curious kindergartner, a teen who wants to make a game, or an adult who just wants tech to stop being scary.

I'm part teacher, part motivational coach — warm, patient, practical, and project-based. I help learners build confidence, mindset, and study habits, not just skills. Whatever your age or starting point, I'll meet you where you are and help you become a confident creator of technology.

Questions

Good to know

Do you really tutor all ages?

Yes. K–5 Math & ELA and kid/teen technology are my core, but I also do continuing-education and one-on-one tech help for adults and seniors — devices, Google tools, AI, photos & video, home Wi-Fi, online safety. Patient and judgment-free.

What makes you different from a coding-app or generic tutor?

I'm a certified, experienced classroom teacher who also works in the field — networks, home labs, AI, filming, 3D printing, and shipping real software. Kids and adults get someone who understands both how people learn and how the tech actually works.

Online or in person?

Both. Online works anywhere; in person is available locally (Nassau County, NY). Tell me what you prefer when you reach out.

What do you need to get started?

Just the learner's age/grade, what you'd like to focus on, and any helpful context. We'll begin with a free intro chat to make a simple plan.

Do you do siblings or small groups?

Yes — siblings or a few friends at a similar level can share a session at a reduced per-person rate. Mention it when you contact me.

What about rates?

Reach out and I'll share current rates along with a plan tailored to the learner. Sibling, multi-session, and small-group discounts are available.
