A one-teacher software studio.
Big Brain Labs builds simple classroom tools — sign-outs, seating charts, morning meetings, scheduling, and observations — designed around real school days, not imagined workflows.
Hi — I'm Mr. B.
I'm a working K-12 computer science teacher, and Big Brain Labs is what happens when a teacher gets tired of waiting for someone else to fix the small, annoying parts of the school day.
Big Brain Labs LLC is a single-member New York company. There's no sales team and no support queue — if you email [email protected], I'm the one who answers.
Why this exists
Every tool I was supposed to use as a teacher was either built by a giant ed-tech company that hadn't been in a classroom in twenty years, or some nightmare of pop-ups, ads, and dashboards that wanted to "track engagement."
Every app starts the same way: I notice something annoying in my own classroom — the clipboard kids forget to sign back in, the morning meeting that drags, the seating chart that takes a prep period — and I build the tool I wish existed. I polish it until I'm proud to use it with my own students. Then, and only then, do I put it on the internet.
No engagement dashboards. No tracking pixels embedded in your students' photos. Just useful software that earns its keep by saving you time.
"If you're a teacher and you want to test something early, I'd love that. If you find a bug, I'm the one fixing it."
