Is this a subscription?
Each tool is a one-time purchase — buy it once and it's yours, with no subscription and no renewals. Try any tool free for 14 days first; if it isn't a fit, email us within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund. You own the version you buy and get free bug fixes for it.
Do I have to buy everything together?
No. Each tool is its own one-time purchase — buy only what you want. There's no bundle you're forced into and no subscription. The brb. kiosk uses a teacher sign-in to sync your kiosk across devices; the simpler tools you just unlock and use.
Do students need accounts?
Most tools work without any account. The brb. kiosk uses a teacher sign-in to sync across devices. Students never need their own accounts to use Big Brain Labs tools.
Are some apps still in preview?
Yes — a few Big Brain Labs tools are still being polished. Preview apps are labeled clearly on the homepage, the toolkit page, and in-app. Updates to a version you already own are free.
How does the school / district plan work?
Email us with your school's grade levels, classroom count, and what apps you'd like to deploy. We'll send a quote within 1 business day along with a signed DPA, SDPC documents, and any state-specific addenda you need (NY Ed Law 2-d, etc.). One invoice covers your whole school — a single one-time purchase, no per-teacher accounts to manage.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. It's a one-time purchase, so there's no renewal to cancel and nothing to manage after you buy.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
For local-only apps: nothing changes — the data is on your device, not ours, so it's yours whether or not you keep using the tool. For Escape Classroom cloud sessions: we delete your room data within 30 days. You can also export everything at any time using each app's Save / Export buttons.
Can I try before paying?
Yes — every tool has a 14-day free trial, no credit card required to start. When you're ready, a one-time purchase keeps it forever. There's no auto-charge and nothing to cancel.
Who actually builds these apps?
One person — a working public-school teacher (Mr. B) who builds the tools he wishes existed in his own classroom, polishes them until he's proud to use them with his own students, and only then puts them online. Big Brain Labs LLC is a small NY-based company; the team is currently one teacher and a lot of late nights.
